STACY + ALEX - HAWKS VIEW - LAKE GENEVA, WI - 2015 WEDDING - PART II: RECEPTION

Stacy and Alex couldn't have had a more perfect day for their wedding at Hawks View Golf Club in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. I was looking forward to spending the day with them once more after having a great time in their home town of Chicago last Fall for their engagement session.

Stacy and Alex put on a good show for the crowd, dancing their way to the cake cutting. The room was filled with laughter and tears after the father of the bride, maid of honor, and bestman speeches. After dinner, I couldn't let the remnants of a great sunset go to waste as vibrant colors filled the sky. So we headed out to the golf course for some quick shots of the happy couple. Back inside for the first dance, father daughter, and mother son dances. It didn't take long for the dance floor to fill up with jumping children. The guests did not hold back, rocking the dance floor from start to finish. The last event of the night was an awesome sparkler send off on the terrace, surrounded by all their guests. Stacy and Alex, it was an honor to get to know such an awesome couple, thank you for allowing me to capture one of the happiest days of your lives! Congratulations and I wish the both of you a lifetime of pure happiness and love!

STACY + ALEX - HAWKS VIEW - LAKE GENEVA, WI - 2015 WEDDING - PART I: CEREMONY

We started the day with some detail shots of the dress hanging in the beautiful garden area of Hawks View. The shoes, rings, and flowers looked great under the natural light coming through the reception hall windows. There were plenty of vibrant plants and flowers to nestle the rings in. On to the Bridal Suite, filled with helpful mothers and bridesmaids, to check on the preparation progress of the (always cheerful) Bride to be. Back to the garden for some bridal portraits (love that veil!) and formals of the ladies. First Look time! We hopped in a golf cart and took Alex to the covered bridge to await his bride. The anticipation was palpable as Stacy crept up behind, tapped Alex on the shoulder and they embraced each other with pure joy. After some one on one photo time under that awesome covered bridge, we drove back to the venue but took a pit stop at a lone tree surrounded by a low stone wall. The long veil worked it's magic in the breeze. The wedding party eagerly awaited the arrival of the stars of the show and we took some fun group photos out in the sun. The ceremony was held on the open terrace overlooking the rolling hills of green. The processional started with an adorable quintet of ring bearers and flower girls and concluded with a proud father escorting a grinning bride to be. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and family shared some celebratory beer in the garden before squeezing in for some photos.

MICHELE + CHRIS - HOLIDAY EVENING ENGAGEMENT - MILWAUKEE, WI

Michele + Chris agreed to my suggestion of a night time session to take full advantage of all the holiday lights around Milwaukee. We started with some close ups at Red Arrow Park, then on to the Performing Arts Center for some fun under the trees, and on the outdoor stage. The holiday light display at Pere Marquette Park made an excellent background while they danced by the river. Congratulations Michele + Chris!

GRACE (CLASS OF 2015) - HALES CORNERS, WI - SENIOR PORTRAITS - WHITNALL PARK

Grace's senior portrait session at Whitnall Park in Hales Corners, was fantastic! It was a perfect Autumn day with plenty of color in the leaves, and Grace was a natural; letting her bright smile shine through in every photo. The change into her traditional Slovak dance costume brought a unique element to the session, and we had a blast playing with the leaves!

STACY + ALEX - CHICAGO, IL - URBAN ENGAGEMENT

When Stacy + Alex requested to have their engagement session in their hometown of Chicago, I was all about it! Getting the chance to set aside Milwaukee for a while and explore another city is a blast! As my morning train rolled in to the station, I was greeted with overcast skies, a bit of rain and a cold wind, but Stacy and Alex were prepared to make the most of it with umbrellas, high spirits, and a plan. Our first stop was to take some shots on a few of the many bridges spanning the river in the heart of the Windy city. Before long, the rain stopped and we made our way over to Millennium Park where the bright Autumn trees looked fantastic against the steel and wood plank walking bridge. We had some fun with reflections at the fountains and in front of the silver bean structure "Cloud Gate". The Chicago Theatre made a great last stop for the session. Stacy and Alex are absolutely one of the kindest and happiest couples I have ever met and I feel privileged to get to photograph their upcoming wedding back in Wisconsin! Congratulations you two, see you in May!

DARYLANN + GILES - JANESVILLE, WI ENGAGEMENT - ROTARY BOTANICAL GARDENS

Darylann + Giles decided on the beautiful Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville, WI for their engagement session location. There is no shortage of excellent spots for photography here; from the many bridges, to the boardwalks over the pond, the oriental structures and intricately carved archways. There is even a garden maze surrounded by sunflowers, filled with free standing colored doors and giant human size leaves! We had a blast exploring the many treasures of the gardens. This engagement shoot will always be memorable because when it was time to wrap it up, we found the entrance building empty, the parking lot deserted, and the gates locked. Jumping the fence made for a great ending to this fun afternoon! Congratulations Darylann + Giles!
